My name is Matthew Weaver and I am a Christ follower, husband, friend, adventurer, speaker, blogger & pastor. I’m originally from Georgia, spent some time in South Carolina and have now been in Louisiana for right over four years!

After graduating high school in Fayetteville, GA, I went to Shorter College for two years and then transferred to Georgia College and State University to pursue a Communications degree. I surrendered to ministry during my early years of college, while I was getting active in a college ministry of a local church in Rome, GA. In Milledgeville, GA, I began to help lead the BCM on campus, volunteered in a youth ministry, and worked as a camp counselor in the summers at FUGE camps with teenagers. After college, God opened a door for me to serve in a College & Young Adult Ministry at First Baptist Spartanburg, SC. My time there laid the foundation for where I am today, which is a journey I could have never imagined.

God then led me to New Orleans, LA to pursue my Masters of Divinity degree at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I graduated seminary with my M.Div. at the end of 2016 and married my incredible wife Emily in April of 2017.

Since then, I have served in various roles at Vintage Church of New Orleans and now serve as the Ministries Pastor. I also serve as one of the Camp Pastors for Mission Lab at NOBTS. I’m passionate about the local church, preaching the truth of God’s Word to all ages, leadership, caring for people and reaching others with the good news of the Gospel.

I enjoy the simple things in life like a good cup of coffee (no cream or sugar!), blogging, good conversation, exploring the outdoors, taking road trips and being on the golf course. The Lord has given me some incredible ministry opportunities so far and I am excited to continue to see what is in store for my wife and me!
